Aloe Vera

Aloe vera

A well-known home remedy plant. Aloe vera thrive when given at least 4 hours of direct sunlight daily, but can tolerate indirect sunlight. If you notice any browning on your plant, provide less sunlight. Aloe prefer drier climates, so allow the soil to dry out completely between watering and water thoroughly. They are susceptible to root rot, so be careful not to over water. Avoid splashing the leaves when watering to prevent the leaves from rotting. Because they are so top heavy, consider re-potting your Aloe into a terracotta or heavy based pot to prevent tipping. Fertilize once per month during spring and summer with a diluted low-potency chemical fertilizer.
