Boston Fern

Nephrolepis exaltata bostoniensis

Boston Ferns are a good option for a hanging pot or draping over a shelf. They do best in an area with indirect sunlight and high-humidty, and would do well in a bathroom with a window. Regular misting is recommended to prevent pest infestation and keep the edges of the leaves from browning. Fertilizing with a diluted low-potency chemical fertilizer or a thin layer of compost once per year is more than enough for this slow-feeding plant. Boston prefers prefer a moist soil but are suseptible to root rot, so be careful not to overwater. Boston Ferns can be messy if left to dry out as they will drop their fronds.
