A hardy, multi-stem deciduous shrub with an low-growing, compact, mounding habit of growth. Ideal for small landscapes and borderline indestructible with endless procession of lightly scented, double, bright, rich red petals blooming summer to fall. To encourage re-blooming, dead-heading is recommended. Features dark green foliage throughout the season.  Canadian Shield™  was developed in Manitoba for Canada’s 150th birthday and is hardy coast to coast.
