GROWING NOTES

In early spring, sow clusters of 7-10 seeds, 8-10″ apart and 1/4″ deep in a sunny spot with well-worked, fertile soil. Chives can also be started indoors in containers 6 weeks before last frost. Plants will form handsome mounds in the garden. Fertilize plants monthly with a high nitrogen fertilizer. Harvest by snipping off leaves, using scissors, leaving 2″ crown to regrow.
