A multi-stemmed deciduous shrub with an upright, spreading habit of growth. Easy to grow. This thorny shrub produces trumpet shaped purple blooms in early summer, followed by bright red edible berries from summer until late fall. Blooms on new wood. Features green foliage throughout the season, turning to a yellow colour in fall. Considered to be a superfruit.
