Heart Hoya

Hoya kerrii

Heart Hoyas are created by taking a leaf off of a Hoya Vine and planting it. Heart Hoyas are unique because they will not get any larger and will live it’s life as one leaf It is very common to see these plants written on to give as living messages. They prefer morning sun or bright indirect sunlight and thrive in quick draining soil. Heart Hoyas prefer drier climates, so allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings and water thoroughly. They are suseptible to root rot, so be careful not to overwater. Fertilize once per month all year with a diluted low-potency chemical fertilizer.

*Rocks – can be added to the bottom of the pots to allow for extra drainage
*Sand – can be added to the soil mixture to allow for extra drainage
*Perlite – can be added to the soil mixture to incorporate more air into the soil
*Compost – a thin layer can be added on top of the soil for added nutrients and to retain moisture
