A multi-stemmed deciduous shrub with upright, thornless stems. A cross between a black currant and a gooseberry. Takes the look of the gooseberry, removes the thorns, and combines the vigorous growth and rich flavour of black currant. Late-June fruit ripens and turns black. Sweet taste and excellent for jellies and fresh eating. Features green foliage throughout the season, turning to a yellow colour in fall.
