This perennial offers foliage interest early in the season then a colourful display of flowers in the fall.  Strong stems produce umbrella-shaped, large rosy-pink flower heads. Showing off atop bright reddish- purple stems surrounded by dark purple leaves. Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society.

Young plant - cooked. A famine food, it is only used when all else fails. Finally has been used to treat itchy rashes, ulcers and for the topical treatment of warts, acne, dermatitis and corns.
