A dense multi-stemmed deciduous shrub with a mounding form. A dwarf variety. Has a neat and compact form with rich purple foliage throughout the season, darkening in colour in the fall. New growth emerges red in spring on arching, thorny stems. Keeps its tightly mounded habit without pruning. Features tiny clusters of yellow flowers in mid spring, followed by showy red berries carried in abundance from early to late fall.
