An open multi-stemmed shrub with a tropical-looking compound. Wide-spreading branches are covered in narrow green foliage throughout the season, turning a bright scarlet in fall. Commonly grown for its ornamental fruit, it also features spikes of yellow flowers in early summer. The fuzzy crimson fruit shows in fall and are carried on showy plumes.
