A multi-stemmed deciduous shrub with a more or less rounded, neat and compact form. Features foliage that emerges crimson in spring, turning then to a distinctive deep purple in summer ending in a superior red colour in fall. Small pink-white blooms from late spring to early summer providing a nice contrast against the dark leaves. A very adaptable plant that is extremely tough and durable. The peeling, tan bark adds an interesting dimension to the landscape. Proven Winners plant.
