GROWING NOTES

Squash is a warm-season crop. Start seeds indoors 3 weeks before last spring frost and transplant carefully, when night temperatures reach 13C. Grow in fertile, well-drained soil. Sow 4-6 evenly spaced seeds into 12″ diameter mounds/hills. Thin to best 2-3 best plants before vines spread. Harvest fruit when rinds are hard and tough. Cut with 2″ of stem. Store in a cool, dry location.
