Are you ready to get into nature? This 8 week series of kid’s classes will provide a space for your child to learn all about the natural world and features crafts, experiments and learning opportunities. This summer’s theme is all about pollinators!
Are you ready to get into nature? This 8 week series of kid’s classes will provide a space for your child to learn all about the natural world and features crafts, experiments and learning opportunities. This summer’s theme is all about pollinators!
ADMISSION : $5 per child for one class
Sundays: 1-3pm drop in
Tuesdays: 10:30am or 2:30pm
For recommended ages 3-12. Parents/Guardians must remain on site for this 45min-1 hour class.
Week one: Buzzing, Fluttering, and Crawling: Discovering Alberta’s Pollinators! – Join us this week as we will be decorating hand puppets of our favorite wonderful pollinators like bees, beetles and butterflies!
Week Two: The Buzzing Benefits: The Importance of Bee Hotels! – Join us this week as we make tiny bee hotel structures that are making a big impact on our environment and give the bees a safe and cozy place to rest!
Week Three: Exploring the Secret World of Canadian Moths: Unsung Pollinator Heroes!- Join us this week as we make pretty paper moth bookmarks and learn how these nocturnal creatures play an important role in out ecosystem as pollinators!
Week Four: Pollinator Power: Exploring the Importance of Different Pollinators! – Join us this week for a fun rock painting activity! Pick your favorite pollinator and paint it on a rock to add to your collection. While painting learn all about the amazing world of pollinators and why they’re so important!
Week Five: Feathered Friends: Birds as Pollinators and the Importance of Bird Feeders! – Join us this week as we take flight into the fascinating world of birds and how they play a surprising role as pollinators while building and decorating a milk carton bird house for your feathery friends to enjoy!
Week Six: Fluttering Wonders: Canadian Butterflies as Pollinators! – Join us this week as we finger paint some flowers and butterflies and talk about the wonderful world of Canadian butterflies and how they play a crucial role as pollinators!
Week Seven: Busy Bees: Exploring Canadian Pollinators! – Join us this week as we make watering trays for the bees so come and make something helpful for little friends and lets buzz into action!
Week Eight: Pollinators: Getting close with our Little Helpers in Nature! – Join us this week as we build bug catchers for you to take home and learn about how to respect our pollinators!
