GROWING NOTES
Plant in spring after last frost in well-drained, fertile soil in full sun. When seedlings have 3-4 leaves, thin to 8 inches apart; use small tender leaves in salads. For extended harvest, make several sowings until summer heat comes on. Harvest often; leaves are sweeter when young and in cool weather. Heat makes leaves much spicier. Plant again in late summer for fall harvests; tolerates light frost.
