A dense, multi-stemmed deciduous shrub with a more or less rounded form. Heavy producer of strongly tart, black berries which are ready for picking in mid to late summer. Commonly used for fresh eating, baking, canning and wine-making. White flowers in spring accent green lobed foliage that turns red in fall.
