CompareUse pots minimum 15″ diameter and 12″ deep. Lettuce thrives in cool weather; and again in late summer for fall crop. In hot weather, provide pots with some afternoon shade. When seedlings are several inches tall, then to 6″ apart giving heads room to grow. Keep evenly moist and mulch well. Cut when heads are well filled out.
