A tall, loose, coniferous tree with deciduous needles and a strong central leader. Bright green needles in spring turn to a breathtaking golden colour in fall. Prefers moist location and light soils. Green foliage, which emerges lime green in spring, turning to an outstanding gold colour in fall before dropping its needles. Golden stems can be quite attractive.
