Dracaena
Dracaena
Dracaena is a species with many different varieties that make low-maintenance houseplants. They prefer morning sun or bright indirect sunlight, and thrive in well-draining soil. Allow the top 2″ of soil to dry out in between waterings. Regular misting is recommended to prevent pest infestation and keep the edges of the leaves from browning. They are sensitive to salt and fluoride in water, so watering with distilled water is best to avoid leaf browning. Fertilize once per month during spring and summer with a diluted low-potency chemical fertilizer.
