A dense, multi-stemmed deciduous shrub. A round shrub with wide, arching branches that are very thorny. Dark green foliage throughout the season turning to a red colour in fall. Clusters of small bright yellow flowers bloom in mid-spring. Fruit are showy red berries carried in abundance from early to late fall.
