Ponytail Palm Tree

Beaucarnea recurvata

In the Agave family, Ponytail Palm Trees are interestingly neither Palms or Trees. They thrive when given at least 4 hours of direct sunlight daily, but can tolerate indirect sunlight. They prefer drier climates, so allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings and water thoroughly. Allow the soil to dry out completely before watering thoroughly. Fertilize once per month during spring and summer with a diluted low-potency chemical fertilizer. Regular misting is recommended to prevent pest infestation and keep the edges of the leaves from browning.
